Jonathan Sedgwick is a freelance singer based in Bearsden, performing solos in choral works and recitals as well as regularly appearing with Scottish Opera as a chorister and principal singer in over 50 operas. He has also worked at English National Opera, Garsington Opera and Opera Bohemia, Camberwell Opera, the City of Birmingham Touring Opera, and Opera on a Shoestring; and recently established a series of concerts of the operas in Bearsden – Don Giovanni, Falstaff, and Elixir d'Amore – raising much-needed money for several charities.
Jonathan has sung regularly at the Edinburgh Festival, the BBC Proms, and the Aldeburgh Festival, in works by Britten, Rossini, Verdi, and Puccini, and in 2015 recorded Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore with Scottish Opera at the Edinburgh Festival.

Jonathan has sung the bass solo in many oratorios throughout Britain including the Messiah, Elijah, Judas Maccabaeus, the requiems of Faure, Mozart and Duruflé, and has featured on several recordings including the three church parables by Britten, also filmed for the BBC.

This season Jonathan has been singing in his 4th! (7th altogether) production of La Bohème with Scottish Opera as a chorister as well as performing the role of the officer.
